Meet the Staff at St. Timothys

Rev. Wendi Gillan, Pastor
wendi.gillan@gmail.com
Prior to her appointment to serve St. Timothys in July, 2013, Wendi had been serving two churches in Iowa — Northwood UMC for the last nine years, and Lake Mills Asbury UMC for the last six years. Before that, she served at First UMC in Swea City. She received her Master of Divinity from Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, MO, having grown up in Nebraska, and she worked in a variety of business positions before entering seminary. Wendi was widowed in 2007, and her family lives in Nebraska and Arizona. In addition to her ministry, she enjoys attending sporting and community events.

Patricia Harkin, Office Manager
sttimsadmin@cfu.net
Patricia joined St. Tims in January, 2017. Being a life-long Iowan, she has developed a respect for nature and a love of gardening and flowers. Her 3 sons were raised on the family farm and she is now blessed with 5 grandsons and a granddaughter. Patricia graduated from Upper Iowa University (UIU) with majors in finance and business. Her career began as assistant director of the UIU Entrepreneurial program and then financial lending for farmers. She has provided administration support and leadership within the church since the 1990’s. Her focus on helping people really expanded with her Christian Life Coaching, where she learned the importance of boundaries and self-forgiveness. This led to new doors opening as she became a Family Law Mediator and (CDFA) Certificate for Divorce Financial Analyst. Patricia believes her experiences have given her a deep appreciation for quality-of-life and her goal is to share that message daily.

James Jenkins, Accompanist
James and his family moved to Cedar Falls from Columbus, Ohio, in 2015. James’ wife is a voice instructor in the UNI School of Music. Before coming here, they lived in Columbus while she was working on her doctorate at Ohio State University. During that time, James freelanced as a pianist at OSU, Ohio Wesleyan University and at Opera Columbus, occasionally substituting at various churches as a pianist, while also helping to raise their young son. Before moving to Ohio, they resided in the Washington DC area for many years, where James was a pianist for Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in McLean VA.

staff-billBill Naaktgeboren, Custodian
bill@sttims-umc.org
Bill started working at St. Timothys in 2009, but he has had a long relationship with the church. Bill married his wife, Candy, on May 8, 1982 at St. Timothys. He was then baptized and became a member of St. Tims on November 12, 2000. Candy and Bill have two daughters, Cassie and Carly, which are also members of the church. Their family was very involved in Community Theater and musicals when the girls were growing up. Bill played in the band at St. Timothys called “Higher Ground.” In his spare time he loves playing the drums, boating, going to the river, riding his motorcycle with his brother, and spending time with his family. He gives children drum lessons and is in two bands. “Mr. Bill” is also employed at Montessori System School.
