Leadership Structure - Councils, Committees, & Teams

Staff Parish Relations Committee meets monthly as needed. The committee serves as a liaison between the staff and the congregation, with a goal of empowering the staff and communicating needs.
The Pastor, Lay Leader and Lay Member to Annual Conference also serve on this committee.

Finance and Stewardship Committee meets monthly as needed. Monitors the financial condition of the church and encourages the congregation in understanding of stewardship.
Additional members of the committee include: The Pastor, Administrative Assistant, Lay Member of the Annual Conference, Leadership Council chair, Representative from Trustees, Representative from Staff Parish, Lay Leader, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary.

Committee on Lay Leadership meets quarterly; more often in the fall. Their primary responsibilities are to align the gifts, skills, and interests of the members of the congregation with the work and ministries of St. Timothys church.  They also provide resources for leadership development, and help people identify their own spiritual gifts.  The Pastor is chairperson, and the Lay Leader is co-chair.

Property Trustees meets monthly. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the physical facility. The pastor also attends and assists this large committee.

Furnishings Committee meets as needed. They have been charged with the interior design of our new spaces, and filling these spaces tastefully and appropriately. The pastor assists the team.

Endowment Trustees meets as needed. This team manages all the investments in our endowment fund, ensuring compliance with the by-laws of the fund.

Gifts & Memorials Committee meets as needed. They manage all of the funds given as memorials, and work with families on the disposition of the gifts.

Reaching & Receiving Committee meets monthly. The team works on ways to further reach out to those in our community, and make them feel welcome when they first walk in our doors. The pastor also assists this team in its work.

Worship Committee meets monthly. They work closely with the pastor, the director of music ministry, and the organist to plan meaningful services.

Christian Education Committee meets monthly. With the assistance of the Director of Christian Education and the Youth Coordinator, they plan the programming for the children and youth.

Special Events Committee meets monthly. They plan and carry out some of the annual special events at St. Timothys, such as the Shrove Tuesday celebration, August Block Party, and Trick or Trunking at Halloween. The Christian Education Director assists the team.

Missions Committee meets monthly. Assisted by the pastor, the team fosters compassion through mission giving in the community as well as the world beyond, by sponsoring special programs and distributing offerings and gifts. Also serving on the committee are: CROP/Urban Ministry Representative and the Community Meals chair.

Church & Society Committee meets monthly. This team concerns itself with social justice, diversity, and inclusiveness. They are assisted by the pastor.
