Welcome to St. Timothys
We are helping each other learn about God's love
and grow in our personal relationships with God.
As our faith grows, we are compelled to reach out to our neighbors and
those in need, whether next door or on the other side of the world.
Our worship, education, and ministries are exciting and produce tangible
results. Social activities offer fun and purpose for all ages from toddlers to seniors.
Don't resist the urge to come to St. Timothys and see for yourself!

New! Pastor's Study Begins May 7
“Christianity After Religion : The End of Church and
the Birth of a New Spiritual Awakening” by Diana Butler
Bass.
The description from the website,
www.dianabutlerbass.com, says this: The data is
clear: religious affiliation is plummeting across the breadth of Christian
denominations. And yet interest in "spirituality" is on the rise. So what is
behind the sea change in American religion? With the same comprehensive
research and insider reporting that made Christianity for the Rest of Us an
indispensable guide to cultivating thriving churches, Diana Butler Bass
offers a fresh interpretation of the "spiritual but not religious" trend.
Offering direction and hope to individuals and
churches, Christianity After Religion is Bass's call to approach faith with
a newfound freedom that is both life-giving and service driven. And it is a
hope-filled plea to see and participate in creating a fresh, vital,
contemporary way of faith that stays true to the real message of Jesus.
You can view the
youtube video where Diane Butler Bass talks about her newest book.

A Summer to Treasure
Consider a United Methodist Camp Adventure this summer
Okoboji, Pictured Rocks, and Wesley Woods. What do they have in common?
They are all in Iowa. They are all Iowa United Methodist camps. They are
all staffed with wonderful people. BUT, they all offer different camping
experiences for all ages, individuals, buddies, and families. Some examples
are: Go Kart Camp, Amusement Park Camp, Teen Week, Boundary Waters Canoe
Adventure, Boys Only, Girls Only, Mission Camps, Green Striped Hippos, and
Boots and Saddles. There are even camps offered for exceptional persons!
The 2012 Camp Catalog is available and can be found in Director Linda’s
office or you can request one of your own by calling 800-765-1651.
The experiences that can be had by attending summer camp can have a
life-long impact on the campers. New friends, new skills and adventures,
songs around the campfire, and of course, Christ is center in song, word,
worship, and example.
A Reconciling Congregation
Valuing Inclusiveness and Diversity
The congregation of St Timothys United Methodist church in Cedar Falls
celebrates God's gifts as a faith community built upon the life and
teachings of Jesus Christ. We are called and strive to be an open,
loving, and caring congregation; to proclaim Jesus' love and justice
to all; and to live out God's unending love through the inclusiveness
and welcoming of all persons, including those of all sexual orientations
and gender identities. Read more…
"Reconciling" is the term used by many in the United Methodist Church
to describe their welcome and inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual and
transgender (LGBT) persons into the full life of the church. St.
Timothys is a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN), a growing
movement of United Methodist individuals, congregations, campus ministries,
and other groups working for the full participation of all people in the
Church.
Growing It Forward - Our 2012
Stewardship Emphasis

We don’t want to just survive, we want to live!
In October, we kicked off our annual stewardship campaign by viewing the
movie, WALL-E. The people in the movie broke
free of their normal habits and automated routines to begin stronger and
more meaningful relationships with each other. They began restoring and
growing the earth toward a sustainable future.
Your financial pledge is but one part of our Growing
It Forward campaign. You have already completed another part in
October, when you committed to be in ministry through St. Timothys on your
Time/Talents/Passions survey.
We would also like you to consider prayerfully how you can support the many
ministries of St. Timothys locally and far away by your financial gifts.
Listen! For Your Inspiration and Mediation -
Worship Stewardship Moments
As disciples of Jesus it is our privilege to build God's kindom on
earth through our gifts and our talents and our passion to "Grow It Forward"
in love, trust, generosity, and mission. What role will you play in helping
it grow with a sustainable future?
Share Your Gifts of Time, Talent, and Passions
Here at St. Timothys we believe that every person is a minister with
important ministries to carry out. So we are asking everyone to
prayerfully think about how we can best share the many gifts God has given
us.
This year we are trying something new. We have completely re-vamped our
traditional Time and Talent brochure, and encourage you to use our new,
online tool to communicate and commit to sharing your gifts of time, talent,
and passions.
Please fill out your form as soon as possible. Even though the
"deadline" is past, we still want to hear from you!
